Neuro-Relaxation Technique

A precise way to work with the nervous system.

Developed and refined by Jonas over 18 years of clinical practice, NRT is a gentle, highly specific manual therapy method grounded in neurophysiology and neuroplasticity. It uses precise, repetitive input to help the nervous system downregulate and create meaningful change throughout the body.

Where NRT began.

NRT grew from a specific form of Japanese Shiatsu that Jonas first encountered through Dr. John MacIntosh. Over time, he moved away from its traditional meridian-based framework, continuing to study, test and evolve the approach through his own clinical work.

In clinical practice.

NRT can be used across all major regions of the body and alongside a practitioner’s existing treatment approach. Assessment and reassessment are central to the method, helping practitioners observe how the body responds throughout a session and adapt their treatment accordingly.

Who NRT is for.

NRT is relevant to RMTs and other manual therapists looking for additional tools for complex, persistent or difficult-to-shift presentations. In treatment, the approach can be adapted for a broad range of patients and stages of life.

“I attended one of his NRT courses and was mind-blown by how effective the techniques were for treating pain and dysfunction.”

Upcoming Workshops

Practical, hands-on training grounded in neurophysiology, with techniques designed to be integrated into clinical practice right away. The workshops emphasise assessment, clinical reasoning, and techniques that can be tested within a session, so practitioners can judge whether a given input is useful for that client.
